GCM SERVICES INC

GCM Services, Inc has operated as a cultural resource consulting business in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and North Dakota since 1982.    GCM Services, Inc., was formed in 1982 by archaeologists from the Mineral Research Center, a division of Montana Tech.  GCM Services in headquartered in Butte, Montana.

GCM Services provides archaeological and historical assessments, baseline inventories, mitigations, data recovery, research and analysis of archaeological materials.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT.  Office and laboratory facilities are located on the second floor of the renovated historic Milwaukee Railroad Terminal building in Butte, Montana.  The facility provides individual offices, laboratory analysis areas, a library and storage.  GCM has facilities and equipment necessary to perform all phases of cultural resource work from resource identification and assessment to data recovery mitigation work, analysis and publication.  All office and field equipment, vehicles and machinery are company-owned.

INSURANCE COVERAGE.  GCM maintains liability insurance, workers compensation insurance and other forms of insurance.   Details are available to clients upon request.

PERSONNEL. GCM Service takes great pride in that our principal staff has been working together for over twenty-eight years.  This experience has provided consistency in project reporting, continuity of company and agency contacts, and development of in-house specialization.  All of our investigators are well known professionally and combine their expertise to provide thorough fieldwork, analysis and research. Primary researchers are Gene Munson and David Ferguson (senior archaeologists). Andrew McElroy directs field projects.  Viktor Kujawa is a faunal remains analyst and field supervisor.  Jennifer Petersen serves as curation specialist, as well as office administrator.  Walker Vaught and Doug Murray are regular seasonal technicians and crew chiefs.  Additional seasonal staff are hired as needed from a pool of qualified applicants that may include graduate or undergraduate student interns. 

SAFETY TRAINING.  GCM employees have completed, and maintain certification for the 24 hour Mine Safety and Health Administration safety and first aid course.
