Gene Munson, Principal Investigator, has directed archaeological excavations and research 
projects throughout Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming since 1978.  Mr. Munson directs 
mitigation projects and is the president of GCM Services, Inc.


David Ferguson

                     Montana, for the Montana State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park 
                     Service.
1987-1989:  Field Assistant/Field Supervisor, GCM Services, Inc., Butte, MT

David Ferguson, Principal Investigator, is the vice president and manager of GCM Services, 
Inc.  Mr. Ferguson has directed inventory and assessment projects in Montana, Wyoming and 
Idaho since 1996 and has directed excavations and mitigation through data recovery efforts 
throughout Montana.  


Permanent Staff Employees

Jennifer Petersen, BA University of Montana, 1990, curation specialist, has worked on fieldwork and laboratory research since 1996 and served as GCM Services’ general office administrator since 1996.


Viktor Kujawa, (BA, Montana State University) has worked for GCM since 2008 as a field technician and laboratory assistant. Viktor specializes in the classification of faunal remains and has developed an extensive comparative collection of animals and avian species found in the Northern Plains.

Andrew McElroy (MA, anthropology, University of Montana 2015 - BA, anthropology, University of Montana 2013).  He has worked on excavation projects and laboratory work for GCM since 2010 as a seasonal field technician. Andrew is a now research archaeologist.

Walker Vaught, (BS, University of Montana, 1999) has worked with GCM since 1999 as a seasonal field supervisor on excavation and inventory projects.  Walker specializes in flora identification and has extensive field experience from Alabama to Alaska.


Doug Murray has worked seasonally for GCM since 2003, on excavation and inventory projects.  Doug operates GCM’s Lieca total station during excavation projects and assists in field logistics.
